The 2019 Public Circular of the Educational Science Research Institute of Hunan University on Personnel Recruitment

I. An Introduction to the Institute

The Educational Science Research Institute of Hunan originating from the Higher Education Research Studio established in 1981, was formally set up in 2006 and is authorized to confer doctoral degrees in the secondary discipline of “Educational Management”, master’s degrees in the primary discipline of “Educational Science” and the secondary discipline of “Educational Economics and Management”, as well as the professional master’s degrees in education. Meanwhile, the Institute also carries out post-doctoral cultivation in its mobile Post-doctoral Research Station of Management Science and Engineering.  

The Institute , by integrating functions of personnel training, scientific research, consultancy service and publication of educational theory journals, boasts of provincial research centers such as the Education Appraisal Research Center of Hunan Province and the Children and Teenagers’ Organizational and ideological Awareness Education and Research Center of Hunan Province as well as one of the educational science research bases under the 13th provincial “Five-year Plan” , namely the Higher Education Quality and Appraisal Research Base of Hunan Province. Moreover, the Institute has the following secondary disciplines, including Principles of the Educational Science, Curriculum and Teaching Methodology, Higher Education Science and Educational Economics & Management.

 

II. Job Vacancies of 2019

The Institute welcomes professors, associate professors and assistant professors both overseas and at home who are specialized in Educational Science, Educational Economics and Management, Management Science, and Economics, etc to join us. And we are always ready to accept high-level talents dealing in the above-mentioned fields.

 

III. Recruitment Schedule

The Institute accepts job applications around the year and will initiate recruitment procedures at different times in batches according to its actual needs.

 

IV. Requirements for Applicants

The applicant shall be loyal to the educational cause, strictly abide by academic norms, stay dedicated to teaching, maintain the exemplary presence of a teacher, adhere to rigorous scholarship, be able to work in cooperation and follow relevant rules and regulations.  

1. Basic Requirements for Teaching and Scientific Research

(1) Teaching Capability

The applicant applying for teaching posts must be capable of carrying out talent-cultivation in the intended disciplines and be competent to teach both basic and professional courses as well as provide mentor-ship and advice to the postgraduate students.

(2) Scientific Research Capability

The applicant must have an active academic mind with profound academic potential. For a senior post, the applicant shall have a stable and frontier research focus, possess research fruits with certain academic influence, boast an open vision and deep insight to national strategic needs and global academic trending in his discipline, and have the potential to grow into an academic leader in his field of study.  

For an intermediate post, the applicant shall be relatively stable in his study orientation, capable of grasping the frontier development in his field, as well as in possession of some moderate academic fruits.

2. Other Requirements

(1) Diploma Requirement: the applicant shall hold doctoral degree from overseas or domestic university or research institute enjoying wide recognition and fame.

(2) Age Requirement: the applicant shall be no more than 45 years old for the professor’s position and no more than 35 for the associate professor’s position in principle. For outstanding talents, the age requirement can be lowered to some extent. This requirement is not binding on high-level talents.

(3) Foreign Language Requirement: the applicant shall be proficient in using the language to conduct academic exchanges in an international context.

VI. Application Procedures                

1. The recruitment plan is open to the world and will be valid around the year. Applicants can submit their applications at any time.

2. The Institute will follow its regulations on attracting talents and employing teachers to initiate its screening procedures for employment at different times in batches.  

3. The applicant shall fill in the Application Form of Teaching Posts for off-campus personnel and submit it to the appointed mailbox together with relevant documents in PDF format as attachments to prove his qualifications, such as the diploma and degree certificates, published books, scientific research projects, patents and awards, etc.

I.The recruited can enjoy salary according to his title and rank of position.

 

II.Other Welfare:

Scientific Research Start-up Fund: the university will provide 150000RMB/person for assistant professor, 300000RMB/person for associate professor and 500000RMB/person for professor in humanities and social science to start their research. The fund will be managed as that of a government-sponsored project and paid on a yearly basis according to his research plan.

Settlement Pay (before tax): the university will provide a settlement pay of 150000RMB/person for assistant professor, 200000RMB/person for associate professor and 300000RMB/person for professor.

Yuelu Scholars Program: the program establishes three kinds of posts, namely the leadership post, the special post and the rising star post, which are open to competition from inside and outside the university. The Yuelu scholar while enjoying the salary correspondent to his position will also be entitled to the Yuelu Scholar post allowance , the standards of which are respectively set at 300000RMB/year for the leadership post, 200000RMB/year for Class-A special post, 150000RMB/year for Class-B special post, 120000RMB/year for Class-A rising star post and 60000RMB/year for Class-B rising star post.  

III.Salary and welfare for high-level talents will be negotiated face to face.
